  1. A strange juxtaposition of Biblical and classical imagery: Abraham being stopped from sacrificing Isaac on the left, obviously, but I can’t place the incident on the right. Great image though, Julie! Especially like the inclusion of the doves and the hint of a vaulted colonnade underneath.

    • Oh I’m so glad you picked up on the image of Abraham and Isaac—I took a close up shot of that as I found the muted tones so lovely–and the fact that this artistic treasure is out exposed to Mother Nature—I actually did a bit of an architectural tribute today to the Cathedral there in Prague (aka the Castle) over on my “day job” blog cookiecrumbstoliveby.wordpress.com–the life of a lowly gargoyle

      • So impressed that these frescoes have largely remained intact over time (I noticed the patching in some of the fa├žade rendering). And thanks for the link–I’ll go over and look at that!
